What is the most immersive wayto experience the wondersof our solar system?
Working with NASA and JPL, we've overhauled their Eyes on the Solar System app, converting it from a space simulator to a media-rich storytelling engine. The success of the project lead to an even larger follow-up: a complete redesign of NASA's entire web presence.

OMGYes is a project full of firsts. From the study it's based on, through casting light on topics still often considered taboo, to technologies that make it work - including touchable videos that users can interact with.
Based on today’s trajectories, how will AR change our livesover the next few years?
To help envision new uses for augmented reality, Google commissioned a series of vignettes that extrapolate capabilities of their ARCore SDK several years into the future. Many of these original ideas have since became staple AR use cases.
When building XR experiences, are traditional UX patternsa foundation or a shackle?
Designing a prototype for HBO's VR Player, my team and I treaded a fine line between innovation and tradition. To our delight, users were very quick to embrace the new - opening doors to many unique UX/UI patterns possible only in VR.
How may we combine robotics, gaming and art to launcha brand new product category?
To debut Nexus Q smart speaker, we imagined and built an interactive sculpture, placing Google I/O attendants in control of gigantic 100x scale replica of the device. The audience used a robotic arm to move the sculpture around in search of hidden audio samples.
Can Newtonian and quantumbehavior of light be the basisof our new UX system?
When building a new UX system for Dell I took my team and the client on a deep dive into the physics of light. We then used this knowledge to envision new behaviors, palettes, and mechanisms that felt both unique and familiar.
Can we re-imagine our devicesto create user experience that’struly ambient and unobtrusive?
Amazon invited my team to dream up and prototype a brand new way of interacting with smart home devices. Together, we've built Shōji - a beautiful, ambient experience that respects user's attention and blends into your home.

Tenets that inform
my professional practice:
Reinvent the wheel
Respect established methods, but challenge them in order to spark creativity and drive progress.
Embrace play
Play is a safe way to let ideas soar above everyday limits - and then to the return refreshed, with unexpected solutions.
Fail, grow, repeat
No true progress can be made without failing at least some of the time. Accept failures and treat them as an opportunity to learn and grow.
Technology serves the people
Make sure the reins of the creative process and its outcomes are human-driven. New tech is great, but its not magic—just another tool.
Diversity ignites innovation
DEI is not just an HR slogan. The more diverse the team, the more perspectives and approaches the leader has at their disposal.
Leave it better than you found it
See and believe in a better future. Consider the impact my projects have on the real world. Make it a better place for everyone - not just for some.
